Redefine “Going for a Ride”
Motorcycle riding is a one-of-a-kind experience. Nothing else compares. You move through the landscape, not past it. You feel the temperature change as you go. You hear and feel the engine… obviously all within safe and lawful riding, right? Point is it’s unmatched.
But as special as riding is, the buzz can disappear quickly when you find yourself wandering without purpose. Pointing your bike into the distance with no idea what you’re actually riding towards. And when you consider what we put into this hobby, time, money, kit, energy, that feeling hits hard.
A sense of purpose to the ride
Most of us are time-poor. The parental duties, the family commitments, the work schedule. Riding time isn’t casual time, it’s earned time. When you finally get that window in the week, you want it to matter.
There are many sat-nav Apps that generate routes on the fly, yet those routes never really deliver that feeling. It’s just a loop. It’s not your plan, your goal, or your story for the day.
Maybe it’s where I live in Scotland, but my GPS seems determined to send me up the same dual carriageway on repeat. Tell it to ‘avoid motorways’ and suddenly you’re sent down a farm track where you’re lucky to hit 40mph. That’s not adventure.
Why RidePlan was made
RidePlan was created because inspiration often lands when you’re not on the bike. You see a photo of a stunning view on social media and instantly think, “I want to ride there.” RidePlan gives you a place to capture that spark by turning it into a ride, saving it for later, or building it into something bigger.
And when the familiar question comes up “Where are we riding?” I’d rather open my phone and throw out suggestions with a bit of foresight behind them. Options that make sense. Routes that are shaped around the experience, not the shortest distance between two points.
The point of RidePlan today
Right now, RidePlan focuses on preparing your day rides and tours. The ones that actually matter to you. It helps you scope out:
Great places to stop and eat
Roads that are worth the effort to reach
Landmarks and viewpoints that turn a ride into a memory
For many of us, that four-hour window on a Sunday might be the most valuable four hours of the week. You’ve worked hard for that time. RidePlan helps make sure the ride rewards you for it.
